Kirsters Baish| By now we all know that President Trump is ready and willing to do whatever it takes to get the border wall between the United States and Mexico built. This week, our Commander in Chief made it crystal clear to liberal lawmakers that the wall will be constructed. He stated that Democrats must “fully understand” that there won’t be a deal on DACA without what he called a “desperately needed” physical barrier between the United States and Mexico.
The Washington Post reported that this morning, President Trump sat down for an interview with the New York Times. He explained that any deal would which resulted in granting legal status to immigrants brought into the United States as children must include funding for a wall that lines the United States/Mexico border.
President Trump took to Twitter to explain this morning that he had informed legislators that there would not be an agreement on former President Barack Obama’s repealed DACA program if there wasn’t proper funding for the border wall between the United States and Mexico which is needed to end “chain migration” into our country.
Trump wrote in his tweet, “The Democrats have been told, and fully understand, that there can be no DACA without the desperately needed WALL at the Southern Border and an END to the horrible Chain Migration & ridiculous Lottery System of Immigration etc. We must protect our Country at all cost!”

DACA is also known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, and the program was terminated earlier in the year. DACA protected more than 800,000 young immigrants from being deported. President Trump made the announcement that he was putting an end to the program in September, but told Congress that he expected them to address the issue sooner rather than later.
When speaking with the New York Times, President Trump stated, “Look, I wouldn’t do a DACA plan without a wall.” He was referring to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program which will be expiring next year if all goes according to plan. He went on, “We need it. We see the drugs pouring into the country, we need the wall.”
Trump went on to clarify the point that he made in his tweet this morning. He added that a DACA had to happen in order to end “chain migration,” explaining that it is a priority of the White House to end the program.
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi’s press secretary Drew Hammill stated, “We’re not going to negotiate through the press and look forward to a serious negotiation at Wednesday’s meeting when we come back.”
One of President Trump’s campaign promises was building the wall between the United States and Mexico, and he has made it clear that he intends on following through with said promise. The Left continually gets in the way of securing our borders, but this time Trump won’t be sitting back and allowing it. Former President Barack Obama may have been in agreeance with the idea of open borders, but we now have a president in office who is prepared to look out for American citizens first rather than looking out for illegal aliens. Keep up the good work, Mr. President!
